During 2020, German companies exported goods worth over 503 billion euro to non-EU countries. Imports from those countries to Germany, totalled 443 billion over the same period.

Customs authorities depend on cutting-edge processes/logistics technology to manage a number of things;

• Firstly the immense flow of goods that is currently being shipped just-in-time around the globe.

• Secondly then, you have all the monitoring that is required – monitoring of costs and of course the time invested in all the processes.

• In addition, duties have to be collected in a uniform and fair manner, and – all of this has to be done while securing the supply chain at the same time.
